VHS Group Project - Pirate ships and Sea life RC cars

Continuing the discussion from VHS Group projects - Mini cup cake cars:

Love it!

I was on the beach today thinking all day about this project and completely changed it to involve the mini guys. Thank you @Janet

Instead of cup cake cars, we could do pirate ships.

Small pirate ships about the size of a cup cake cards but with working water cannons. If we had two working pirate ships we could battle them against each other in an epic water fight. The pirate ships would be unique compared to following the Cup cake cars. They would work just like the cup cake cars. A CNC cut tricycle with a pirate ship shell that fits on top of them, preferably with an electrical motor but not required. The cannons can be compressed water cannons and we dress up like pirates. PIRATES ! ARRRR (Note: I really want a reason to dress up like a pirate)

We could add a bunch of little RC cars that can run around the ship. The RC cars can be controlled by Bluetooth devices such as your cell phones or autonomous, or wireless. The RC cars can have a simple painted vacuum formed shell that fits over the cars. The shells can be painted to look like different sea life.

Manta rays.

Sharks

Lion fish

So we would have a few expensive (Thinking $500+) to build pirate ships and a bunch of cheap (<$100) small RC cars that look like different sea life that would chase the pirate ships around. We can run workshops on how to make remote control RC cars, (motor controllers, Bluetooth, Arduous, Vacuuming forming, painting, mold making, etc…)

The great thing about this is that in includes all the group projects I was talking about this morning. Its very photogenic that should get us press, and it has many parts to it that we can run as workshops, and everyone can get involved even if its just dressing like a pirate for Maker Faire.

Who wants to join me on this version of a VHS group project ?

RC Lobster? Yes please!

Imagine a lobster chasing you across Maker Faire? Your lizard brain would kick right in.

For me the challenge/incentive would be to create a radio controlled swarm…

Well fudge.

I wonder if Rob still has his remote-controlled helium-filled shark?

If not I have the Nemo ClownFish version, unopened in a box in storage.

This would be a nice fit for my half built remote control Strand Beest. Maybe I could build a crab shell for it or something.
