VHS Equipment Review - Water Cooler

Our water cooler is in rough shape:

Some background on how we obtained it here.

Is it worth keeping and repairing, or should we consider replacing it?

Toss it.

Totally agree on tossing. It’s gross.

Vote for toss!

I wouldn’t drink from that

Fill it with Vodka and then see how much people complain?

If you pulled those taps apart you would probably find green algae growing in them.
I bought a used water cooler off CL and needed to give it a lot of cleaning before it was fit for use

@Logan_Buchy decontaminated it with chlorinated powder and baking soda when we got it, but I don’t know if it has been cleaned since then.

Alchohol is a disinfectant, after all.

I’ve added a poll to the original post.

Now that you’ve mentioned it, I’ve noticed that the water from the white tap tastes “off”. I’ve taped a “drink at your own risk” sign on it.

Your poll indicates that %100 of participants have agreed it should be tossed.

In the strongest possible terms I again recommend simply taking it to appliance recycling.

Note the Vancouver City is running recycling drives around the city to collect things like the water cooler. I know there is one early march in the West End. Somewhere on there website there is a list.
