@miststlkr I have hacked a USB mp3 player with a IR sensor to activate the
play/pause button and added a ada 2130 audio amp for the recycle bins audio
system at this years maker faire but this new device does it all in one so
should be a much simpler solution.

Nice. I was looking for a “press Button1 to play Sound1, press Button2 to play Sound2” setup and that looks ideal

Several years ago i was involved in the redesign of the audible pedestrian
signals but that unit is way too sophisticated for this application and
could also only play up to 4 specially encoded .wav files
With this unit i can use the same device for one cluster of bins (paper /
plastic / cans / glass / foodstuff)
I may still add a cycling controller to identify the correct bin and select
the appropriate sound and description.

Adafruit seem to have blacklisted parcel services in Blaine. They cancelled my order an hour after I place it. I have a credit card registered at that address so it must be blacklisting - the email specifically referred to parcel services. Apple does this too.

I travel between the US and Canada most every weekend.
