Nope. The alternative was to take the landlady to small claims court. Find funvill’s thread.
The directors are not pursuing this, it would be up to you.

Regarding the wall: I had seen a comment about chucking the drywall out, but that seems to have been changed. Can’t we reuse the drywall in the new space? Is drywall not reusable?
Not really. Well you could with a very very large amount of effort but it’s just not feasible especially since the wall is taped and painted.
Until December 5 I am in Black Friday week long sales with Marginally Clever. After that my shedule opens right up. I can help build the wall and organize how to get everything into the space. I’m sorry I’m not available earlier, it’s just terrible timing.
Given the fact that our lease was broken, are we really obligated to remove the walls?
Note about building new walls: Any construction like building new walls or changing electrical will require drawings (possibly stamped engineering drawings) and approval from the landlord and any appropriate building permits from the city. Very do-able, it just can be a slower process because of the bureaucracy.
Keep these things in mind when considering the timing.
That does seem like another argument for curtains.
Does anybody have a source or can provide cost estimates?
I suspect any curtain material will need to be fire retardant, there goes the cost advantage me thinks.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I almost cried when I first turned up at the bunker and the walls were just going up randomly. As soon as you leave this path you’re stuck off it - we would never have got electrical permits because the subdivision of 101 by our landlord was illegal. We the added our walls etc etc.
My availability starts on December 20th ![]()
It is also argument to vote on drawings now and produce wall and wiring drawings.
The landlord seems responsive so how long will it really take to show him/her drawings for review?
I agree rooms only where required. And rooms where required.
Adding walls to cook street will not be illegal if we follow reasonable standards and get permission.
What UPSETS me most of about the bucker is the crappy extension cord electrical wiring.
I will be fully available after 20th.
I have more time during the holidays not less.
More time for me when girlfriend leaves the country to visit home for the holidays.
Something that may be an issue with getting permission from the landlord in December is that the Property Manager (a very nice person!) is away for the entire month.
If going to spend the first month without walls. Just move things around again and again until it feels right. Than add walls, dividers.
Perhaps we can wire the exterior and ceiling. Interior walls without wiring can be movable.
Problem is we may/will be tight on shelving.
I’ve imported the floorplan PDF into Rhino, scaled it, and separated things into useful layers. We could get together and knock out some drawings over beer / coffee or I can export it to whatever format needed. I’m not an architect or engineer, just reasonably proficient with Rhino, so we’ll need someone who actually knows about creating drawings that will pass muster.
Personal stuff has come up and I can’t make it tonight to help packup.
Can anyone with a key open the space for the people that are coming down to pack?
“Given the fact that our lease was broken, are we really obligated to remove the walls?”
We built a wall? I recall we signed a renewal lease that was disqualified, but I don’t recall anybody building no stinking wall… Do you?
I do not.
Great success Saturday, TV pulled down without incident.
Pizza was had, thanks to funvill for sponsorship!

Sunday: BRING YOUR CLAW HAMMERS AND CROWBARS, IT’S GOING TO BE INTENSE.
