Browser-based 3d modelling. Includes collaborate working, full rollback, and an interesting system for connecting parts together. Free for many people.
Tried to get the free beta, but the program is “Full”
FreeCad… I started checking this out the other day and it looks pretty cool… haven’t done detailed testing with it but so far
I just got into the Beta this morning. Seems about 48h turnaround on the entry.
I got in as well after saying the program was full. It’s relatively quick for the little bit i’ve played with it.
It definitely runs faster than my copy of Solidworks, and I don’t really do closed source so the 5 closed-project limit is fine for me.
AHA! edit a part and in the left hand menu right-click on the part name. there you can find “export to STL”. Nice.
I sent a request for beta access. I have to pick up some sort of 3D software so mebbe this will be the one…
I sent one too. Like Sketchup these guys seem to miss the boat with their pricing - super expensive or free with nagware. One thing eagle seems to get right is a clever pricing model.
got my invite, it looks pretty neat. Started a channel on slack for anyone interested in communal learning and working our way through it together if anyone is interested
group night at VHS. that way we can see each other’s screens and crush the local bandwidth.
I just signed up, got a reply in minutes - yay! Only now I just need to learn how to use it - any kind of group night would be much appreciated.
Created a group class night …thing.
