Very cool imgur album of the process of creating a leather wallet, pieces cut on a laser cutter, and then hand stitched.

I’ve been thinking of doing a laser made wallet group buy from the leather shop down the road on west 5th (lonsdale leather; http://www.lonsdaleleather.com/) and spoken with the guys theres about which hides are easy to laser thickness wise, would love to see how much interest there is on a build night / workshop to make wallets of peoples own designs or one similar to this.
Only downside is leather can be expensive, probably costs around $15 - 20 materials wise for each wallet.
Looks awesome though.

One guy at Maker Labs does a lot of leatherwork, and that includes laser cutting the leather. He’d probably have some good advice if you went to him.
