It is quite a simple procedure. Might be a little awkward the first time. I would suggest a little practice when trained on the bandsaw.

I think you’re right. That is, not requiring bandsaw training. IMHO I think there should be, at least a little. The tool would like it 
It is perhaps a little more forgiving than the table saw in the case of a mishap. But it can be dangerous if not maintained/setup correctly.
