Wiki Pages in Discourse

Continuing the discussion from Discourse change log:

I did not know that you could make posts in to wiki pages, that is very interesting.

Think there would be any interest in using this to maintain that sort of documentation here as well? I’m just picturing a wiki post that has a discussion under it with questions and updates.

Perhaps not for a while but just a thought.

You know we have a wiki.
(This might actually be more appropriate for a wiki page - that way the public is more likely to see the cool shit we’re doing and be inspired/use our code/give us internet cred)

Really really shitty example that I dumped all over one of the pages:http://vanhack.ca/doku.php?id=hacks:mmp

Yep, the wiki that everyone knows about but only a few people make changes. I commend the contributors for doing so, every time I want to update a page I think crap I need an account then procrastination takes over.

The thought is you could do an information dump like you did for the first post, make it a wiki entry so anyone can edit then have posts following that where people can contribute (even by e-mail)

The other thought is if you get a bunch of people used to an interface like this forum, the would be motived to also contribute since they already have access already.

I wouldn’t suggest replacing the wiki, but thought I would point out the feature. Surely there will be a time when it would be handy to allow OP to be publicly editable. Like maybe adding your name to a workshop signup/wait-list, or an interest thread or group buy thread.

EDIT: or a running shopping list
