There used to be a grey box with sets of springs in the space. That’s what I’m looking for - a sampler set of different types so we can figure out what works in our design.

If you don’t locate the box of springs, Princess Auto sells packages of random size springs for cheap.

There is most certainly still a shoebox of springs at VHS, containing hundreds of springs. Pretty sure it’s above the scope area, or above the 3d printer area.
Ideally an attachment for the tool post to guide the wire while it’s being wrapped on the mandrel would be used. Tension and pitch can be controlled easily that way.
