Warranty Voiding Ritual

When I fix/upgrade something, I often waiver for a moment at the point of ‘no returns’ where I am about to void a warranty. Does anyone have any sort of habitual action or thing they think about right before they cross this line?

I figured I’m not alone in taking a momentary pause before I go joyfully into the act of voiding my warranty, and I’d love to hear yours.

If a sticker exists that says “warranty voided if removed” I like to peel it off and stick it to my forehead.

At the moment of warranty voiding I always like to pause, double check that I have a good parts tray handy, and then sacrifice a small goat to Hephaestus.

Ask myself if I can afford to live without the device. If the answer is yes, then no hesitation is needed.

Check to see if I can hide the fact that I removed the void warranty sticker.
Review any instructions I have on disassembly and reassembly one more time. Check to make sure I have the parts required to fix/upgrade.

Live and die by the you break it you fix it rule.

Peeling that sticker will not void your warranty:
