I was in nanimo this past weekend and dropped by Makerspace Nanimo for a visit.
It’s located out in an industrial area and it’s a big space. 3D printer area, chill lounge, meeting area, workstations, soldering area, metal shop, woodworking shop. They have a “portal” project which they would like to share with another maker/hack space.
Is that a Scorbot ER III Robot arm I see?
These things are getting around, lately.
What’s this ‘portal’ project you speak of??
They’re actually the vanguard of an alien robot invasion.

The portal is a TV screen mounted on the wall lengthways - when you walk up to it it’s supposed to light up and project an image of the other end of the portal (which would be a similar TV mounted at VHS).
So there would be a webcam on each side to project the image across the portal.
