Wood doors make AMAZING desks. There’s even a hole for cables (where the doorknob goes) in the ideal location. A trip to the dump to find a solid wood door yields many possibilities.

I do like the details worked in here.

I’ve been using doors and bifold closet doors as in situ desks that get hung back up when I’m done renting. There is a used building supply place in Burnaby I haven’t visited and an excellent one in Chilliwack, used building supply stores rock.

Here is someones glowing resin shelf project.

Glow in the dark pigments can be bought undiluted.
An oz of pigment can go a pretty long way, definitely a method for saving money if you intend to lay down a lot of glow paint or resin.

3 desks at home,

  1. door on 2 filing cabinets,
  2. someones else door table with 2 legs missing and replaced by a filing
    cabinet.
  3. a 2 x 14 between the 2 door tables, for laptops

Best desks I ever had were Fiberglas sheets for a truck van body. Super
strong and compact. Much stronger than your typical door.

There are some great old/free desks that come up on craigslist…saw a tiger oak one recently. Would look pretty sweet with and glass top and some metal legs from Ikea.
