I was looking to use the Vaquform DT2 Vaccuformer unit that is sitting on the bench by the 3D printers. I’ve taken a quick look through the referenced documentation and I’m wondering if anyone knows where to purchase either PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol … isn’t that a mouthfull!) or HIPS (high impact polystyrene) sheets suitable for use in this unit? Alternatively, are there supplies for this unit that I can donate to the upkeep of?
You can buy the plastics at Industrial Plastics and Paint. They have a location in Richmond and one in PoCo and a not-so-useful website at goindustrial.ca
I looked recently, and found some stuff on Amazon. The store on the actual company’s website is also not extortionate, they provide a good guide on selecting plastics for whatever your intended use-cases are.
