VA7TCP is here

While not very active I do have my license again. I was VE7BEZ about 20-25 years back but it had long since expired so I took the course through Vector. Right now I have a equally old Kenwood TH-26AT that doesn’t seem to work very well anymore (nicads are definitely gone) so I plan to start looking for a new radio…

I have a few radios. Last spring picked up an ICOM 31AD UHF radio as the door prize at the Burnaby Amateur Radio Club swap meet. This past week, won the door prize at the Delta Amateur Radio Society swap meet. The Wouxun KG-UV8D is a dual band VHF/UHF handheld. Nice little radio that Fleetwood sells for $159CDN. Used it to checkin with the VECTOR Net last week and the signal for both RX and TX was strong and steady, I would even go so far as to say better than the ICOM.
