Temporary welding table top

So I was thinking about welding pipeline, how to get started. Cause you can’t weld on a plastic folding table. So as we have free metal beds in loading area I decided to clean them up from rust, grease and dirt and have something we could use for now. Here’s result :

I put it behind the welder, looks like don’t take much space.

Nice one @dmo! Does the table get hot? I know nothing about welding so just curious.

I didn’t tried it yet but that was my guess. Arc generate lots of heat. All welding tables are usually from solid metal. My mig welding course in few weeks then I will test it out.
