So this might be time to talk about something I’ve got in the hopper.
Spurred on by @bruce’s original analysis here, and based on this side project, I designed a PCB using these caps.
It’s a Raspberry Pi UPS, with mounting holes for the full size, or the RasPi Zero’s footprint. I expect to be able to crib the software for the PicoUPS almost unchanged, because this board is a tool that I want to use, not a project that I want to work on.
It’s been sitting in my DirtyPCBs shopping cart for a couple months, awaiting panelisation.
All of my design files (In Altium) are on my GitHub here, along with Gerbers. There may be issues with the outlines in those outputs, I haven’t checked because I’ll be redrawing them for panelisation anyway when I finally have time.
If anyone wants to build one of these, they can wait until I do an order (end of May, probably), or order a set themselves and I can help with component sourcing/selection. I’ve already done all that work and have the power resistors, etc.
