I’ve been looking for ways to experiment with server hosting and the like for awhile now, and I think colocating sounds like a really cool idea, but it seems like it’s only really marketed towards businesses who need lots of energy and it’s very expensive. But then I’m thinking, surely it wouldn’t be too crazy to have a small group of people, with hobbyist setups, who are able to split the costs on a location and some IP addressing without enterprise marketing and all that? where you can see they have pretty good deals for “non-commercial” customers. Does anything like this exist in the lower mainland?
https://astuteinternet.com/services/colocation seems close to what you’re looking for, in that they offer as small as 1U options. Nothing specifically non-commercial / hobbyist though, from a discount perspective.
