SEEED DSO Nano V3 Oscilloscope

Massdrop has this for $66 + $8.75 shipping

Amazon lists it for $150. Has anyone seen it cheaper anywhere else?

Thanks

I would like to see a demo of the scope after you get it. Seems great even
as a low performance scope.

Best price I have seen, previously low I seen was around $100.

I’ve got one. I rather like it, I keep it at my home workspace. It can’t do a ton, but it does enough to be useful.

$US89 on seeed, massdrop states this as the msrp.

That’s a great price but the exchange is only getting worse. I got one of these from ebay for $23Cdn (look for DSO138) and it was fun to put together…most people have said scopes in these ranges are little more than toys but really depends on what you’re using it for. $23 was a worthy investment.

At that price

It would make a good VHS learn to solder project for maker fair or similar.

Secondary spin off would be a learn Fusion360 night to design a case for
that, which could be 3D Printed.

There are a bunch of printable cases for it already on Thingiverse…you can’t see it from the photo but I 3D printed one of them that is just legs to stand it up…I like the ‘rawness’ of it.

It is intended as a ‘learn to solder project’ and most of the kits have the SMD parts already done. It’s a pretty versatile kit too since you can change up how it’s connected, the orientation, etc. and it has upgradable firmware.

A word of caution about the DSO138 - apparently there are lots of counterfeits of it online…which is crazy since it costs so little but typically those kits are missing or have the incorrect parts. My kit had a few missing parts (resistors in my case) but fortunately they were easily sourced.

Sometimes Thingiverse takes all the fun out of things. Makes me lazy.

Usually I find what I’m looking for but it’s never quite what I want…at least it saves me taking dimensions sometimes.

I assume the firmware is open source.

Where can the firmware source be found?

I’d never assume it would be opensource but you can find it here:

I also have a DSO138 from Banggood (came with original JYEtech documentation and no problems with missing components) It was a fun build plus also a useful hobbyist tool.

Note that despite what the model number suggests, unlike the SEEED the DSO138 is not a storage oscilloscope. I also have not compared the specs between the two.

“not a storage oscilloscope”

Does that mean it can’t take a snapshot at a particular moment? What’s the cheapest scope that can do that? I

Also, does anyone know of a cheap, straightforward way to use a Raspberry pi or something with an ADC chip to get MHz resolution?

Sorry… didn’t mean to confuse. The JYEtech DSO138 is not a storage oscilloscope. The SEEED DSO is a storage oscilloscope!
