I’m a new member and I am looking to start some welding projects.
Would anyone know where to find/buy scrap metal?
We have some scrap steel plate in the welding area which is available to be used. 1/4” 3/8” and 1/2" I think, smallish pieces.
For scrap metal, check out Capital Salvage (in the alley behind the JJ Bean coffee shop at Victoria and Powell. North Star Metal Recycling is also nearby. Check in with the folks in the front office and let them know what you’re looking for, to ask if it’s ok to poke around a bit, and have them explain the yard etiquette if you haven’t been there before.
