Hay all I’m working on sharpening scissors and a soft metal setting hammer is used in some cases. Something around hrc 35. Does anyone have a set of hardness testing files to test what I have?
Has anyone done an annealing setup here at vhs?

We have a heat treating oven but I don’t think we have rockwell files
I vaguely remember an electronic? gauge in the machine shop that measures hardness. I’ve never used it. Check the metal cabinet drawers.
