Project for USED high capacity UPS batteries?

Hey hackers,

A large quantity of high capacity UPS batteries are being made available at a firm I have a contact with. They are 5 years into a 10 year lifespan.

Info:

C&D TECHNOLOGIES UPS12-490MR

These batteries are 100 pound 12V lead-acid Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) type high-current rate batteries.

Any thoughts on a project for these? Battery bank for solar cells?

A non-profit I work with could make use of them I think, powering solar/wind installation in remote areas, in use to relay audio/video signals to record wildlife and provide noise profiles for the ocean.

I also might want them to power a boat, or relay stations, or just for camping?

What’s the timeline on this?

I need to make the request by the end of today, and pick them up next
Wednesday.

Can’t commit. Maybe say you’ll take a few and put em at VHS?

Bummer, I missed this, I’d love some of the batteries for a solar power bank.

They would also have made a fair lead shield for atomic particle hackering…
