When programming my handheld, if I am adding a simplex channel do i set both the transmit and receive frequencies as the same?

If it’s like the BaoFeng, if it’s simplex you only set one frequency. If
it’s a repeater, you also set the offset amount and plus or minus.

yes, that would give the same effect as having a simplex channel.
