Printer toner?

Hi, I’m from Montreal and have been coming to VHS for a few weeks.

Tonight I used the printer a bunch ( HP LaserJet Pro 400 - Vancouver Hack Space ). It said “low on black toner”.

Should I get some new toner for it?

Once I get wiki edit access, I intend to improve the documentation for the printer.

I’m not entirely sure, but I think the printer specific model is M475dn. Which would make the black cartridge type CE410A.

I haven’t checked if there’s any spares at the hack space already, but I’ll guess probably not, and they should have a 1-2 year shelf life?

I think this one should work: LD Remanufactured Toner Cartridge Replacement for HP 305A CE410A (Black, 2-Pack) : Amazon.ca: Office Products

Will wait a bit before ordering in case anyone has anything to add.

I’m pretty sure we have some spare toner cartridges stored away somewhere.

Thanks. I’m not currently a member so I don’t have access to Slack.

Looks like someone beat me to it! Under the printer shelf there’s a box RitoTech brand toner 4-pack (CYMK).

Inside one of the toners is actually RitoTech CE410A with a label “3/20/26 Empty”. Other 3 toners in the box are Moustache brand. (WARNING: The cyan toner is damaged and leaks blue pixie dust everywhere)

In the printer is a Moustache CE-410X and printer seems happy about the black toner level.

I’ve been buying no-name-brand toner on the VHS credit card for a few years; I support this do-ocracy but please ping me if for whatever reason the toner runs low and y’all can’t afford the money, time or attention to make it happen.

That was me, I replaced the black toner last week after I printed something and it looked like trash  .

The blue toner was leaking already when I opened up the box. I did my best to not blue myself or others. But it might need to just be bagged up and disposed of to be honest.
