Here is part 1 of the LED lesson: wiring your arduino, LEDs, and power supply.
Hi, I’d love to be part of this course!! (this is my RSVP)
I have sent a message through the contact list at marginally clever… hopefully further instructions are handed down soon!
Just to be clear, I need a laptop, a USB cable, and then the fee for the materials? Anything else?
Omidia - that and motivation are all you need.
Class is now full.
Although I placed the order for LEDs more than a week ago, I only just received the Dahl tracking number.

If this delays the class it will be held the following Saturday. If you cannot make the class at all I will give you a refund.
Hey Given that I gave you those pieces of coro, could i get one back laser cut for my grid?
The two pieces I have will be cut and brought in. I don’t remember who asked for which one.
There are issues at the hong kong border at the moment, am waiting for some stuff myself.

This is week… 3? Of waiting on different shipments for me. I thought I was ordering. From mainland china. Ah well.
Due to popular demand I have scheduled the next iteration of this course.
Get in while the gettin’ is good.
LEDs for class 1 have arrived! Just waiting on the power supplies now.
Power supplies are on the truck and should be delivered today.

Thanks for this course, Dan! It was very helpful for me and I even got my lights to do what they were supposed to do!
Now I just have to figure out what pretty light patterns to make with my grid. Maybe some dancing flames of a “yule log” for Christmas…
Can you draw your log in a paint program on an 8x8 grid? Then you can copy the colors into the arduino. Bam!
Put several in a row separated with a delay. Animation. Bam!
When you get it working please post a vine.
Thanks to Dan for a great course. I believe everyone left with a working rig and lots of ideas!
Really good class. Thanks Dan.
Good workshop! Was nice to get re-acquainted with a bit of programming.
Question though, in the workshop you detailed how to wire up the arduino to the power source to run independent of the usb connection, would you mind describing how to do that on here or in your blog?
Dan, did you have a chance to laser cut the plastic sheets?
