Need some assitance getting a device repaired - Skulpt Chisel

Yes I am trying to replace the 2 batteries since the original ones do not hold the charge anymore

After opening I realised that the batteries are strongly welded

I did not try yet to remove them
Still waiting for the new batteries to arrive

In the meantime I would be glad to get advise in order to remove the batteries safely without damaging the PCB

The current ones are spot-welded. to the tabs that connect to the PCB. You could cut off the metal tabs to remove the battery and then desolder the remaining metal bits on the pcb. If you’re not experienced with SMD soldering you can mess up your PCB. Also soldering in new batteries is tricky as they are lithium and there is a fire risk. Hopefully your replacements have the spot-welded solder tabs pre-atttached.

If not, best to give some place like these folks a call. They may be able to do all this for you.
