Hello Vancouver Hack Space, thank you for being receptive to allowing us to post here!
I’m posting on behalf of our small team of volunteers here attempting to put together the Canadian Video Game Museum (CVGM) installation at the Museum of Vancouver (MOV) this late June to Fall.
Our ambition is to start a not-for-profit and establish a permanent museum celebrating the Canadian video game industry here in Vancouver, and this MOV installation will be our next big step in that journey.
Right now we’re looking for volunteers to help us with this installation, and knowing that you’ve got a tight-knit community of skilled makers/hackers, we are hoping some of you would be interested in giving us some of your time.
Our target launch is late June, but we can have some projects come in throughout our time there (will run to Fall). The types of things that we’re needing to do are quite varied, from some tablet enclosures/stands for interactive digital twins, a more professional looking podium for our Digital Exploded View exhibit which uses a hand-tracking sensor mounted on top to allow you to manipulate and explode open a video game console, plinths for various other items like a few old CRTs and some wall mounts for various artifacts and acrylic sheets for protection.
If you’re interested please fill out the short survey (found on the attached poster’s qr code) so we can get a better sense of what you’d like to help with!
Sincerely,
Ryan Dunnison (Team Lead of the Canadian Video Game Museum)
