Model train show coming up in November

Hi there,

I’m just passing this along but some friends of mine are organizing a modellers meet to run opposite the Vancouver Train Expo November 3-6. It is called the Railway Modellers Meet of BC and takes place at the Atrium 2889 East Hastings. Basically, it is a little more in-depth than the public show going on at the PNE Forum over the same weekend.

I haven’t been involved for the last several years but when I was on the model meet committee the thinking was that cross pollination would be beneficial to help keep things fresh. Things like 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC, both home brew and via service bureaus are all topics of interest within the hobby and obviously common to maker practice. Some of the historical subjects are perhaps more esoteric (construction and history of Connaught tunnel under Roger’s Pass for instance) so some interest in industrial archaeology might be necessary to make it worthwhile.

All in there are operating sessions, a room to display your models, two clinic streams balanced between prototype and modelling concerns, a banquet and more

If interested the link for the show is: www.railwaymodellersmeetofbc.ca.
Registration in RMMBC gets you into the public show as well.

Thanks,

End of PSA
