McMaster-Carr now ships to Canada

@Big_Mak mentioned over in CNC End Mills - vendors and recommendations about ordering from McMaster-Carr, which until recently has had a policy of cancelling any orders from Canada from new accounts (i.e. they’d only ship to accounts that existed before that policy was put in place). I figured I’d try my luck, placed an order yesterday mid-afternoon, and sure enough I have a package from them today - next day delivery, as fast as DigiKey!
This is pretty huge news for many of us I expect, as McMaster-Carr carry a lot of items (screws, mechanical parts, tooling, etc) that are very hard to obtain from anywhere else, and at reasonable prices. I see even more robots, 3D printers, and animatrons in our future!

My order only had a handful of small end mills, with a stated weight of 1lb and approximate dimensions of 25x16x8cm (the stamp on the box states the internal dimensions are 9"x6"x3"), and shipping came to $18.42 (the order was $95.62 + $5.70 GST; no tariffs/customs/etc was charged).

Do note however that this was ordered under my company name, so personal orders may be treated differently.

Just be ware that they don’t like shipping certain aluminum alloys and extrusions across the border as there is an anti dumping tarif on them of 101%. I’ve got that email from them a few times.
