I have a PCB that runs at 3.3v. On it I need to swap the 5v CANbus tranceiver MCP2551 for a 3.3v SN65HVD230 that will arrive any day now. That means removing an 8 legged IC chip from the PCB and then soldering on the replacement.
I’ve removed a few in the last month by hand. I’ve never replaced one with another. I thought I’d share the experience by making a youtube video. Then I thought maybe someone wants a livestream. So… is anyone interested? I can post to this thread when I’ve got a scheduled time.
(I strongly suspect if I had a robot arm this job would be much easier.)
