Note that @TomKeddie has designed the board with pads for the serial port so you can use these to use the normal Arduino style serial port programming

One thing to note - Avrdude (arduino gui downloader) applies a reset to run the bootloader just prior to download so you need a mechanism to reset the chip. To use the serial lines for programming we either need to wire up a reset RC circuit from the DTR pin on the usb serial cable or add a reset button.

I will leave a set for you without 3528 caps out back where the toaster oven was. I’m including all my spare caps as I don’t have time to go through them, there will be something you can use in there. The caps are on the p/s so you can use any value, I used 0.1uF for the 0805, have included a strip of these - the vhs part collection has a reel I think.

I grabbed the bag this afternoon and will figure out what we haven then order the rest…

Thanks @packetbob. It might be worth socketing the display to make diagnosis easier. I can remove the display from my proto if you don’t have the time.

You have swapped ADC6/7 with PDO/1 to free up the serial port…But looking at the 328P info it appears these two ports can only be used for analog input…

Argh, damn it. Those pins are only on the 32 pin package. Looks like we need a new pcb run or white wires. Damn. Will try to get onto it this week…

I wonder if the input impedance of the input pins is high enough to not affect the output pins if I just connect PD0/1 directly to the display pins without cutting the ADC6/7 traces…
