I am repairing some luggage.

Recommend place to buy leather or canvas sewing supplies?
I am also looking to buy some small pieces of canvas.

Edit: I focused on buying canvas and misread that you were repairing luggage, so you probably won’t need to buy leather. Still, I’ll leave everything I already wrote.

Dressew has small pieces of leather from time to time, but it might not be the thickness you want. There is a Tandy Leather store in Surrey which might be useful. Also, if you have any contacts at MakerLab, you might be able to ask them about where to get leather, since there is someone renting space there who does leather work.

For canvas, you might find some at Dressew, but you could also try Outdoor Innovations on 1005 Kingsway (Kingsway and Windsor). They used to be on Main street and are a small store that carries outdoor supplies. I haven’t been there since they moved from Main, so I don’t know if they have what you need.

Dressew is at 337 West Hastings, between Homer and Hamilton. They have lots of thread and other sewing notions at reasonable prices, so you might want to buy your notions there.

My first repair will be canvas, later I will doing some leather work.

Lonsdale Leather at 5th and Manitoba has a good selection of supplies too, but Tandy Leather definitely had the best selection, depending on what you’re looking for.
