Laserjet toner for gone/obsolete printer = paint/ink?

TLDR: Is laser printer toner “just powered paint/ink”, and if so, does anyone use it as such?
OR
Anyone need some printer carts for an old HP Laserjet CP3505?

This might be a deeply silly question but I had an old HP LJ CP3505, but this spring I came across 4 sealed toner cartridges for it, and since I know HP has started being pretty Evil™ about how/when/why they allow refilling cartridges (ie: they don’t), I’m assuming there’s zero use for the toner INSIDE those cartridges unless they go into a printer built for them, so I’ve been wondering if perhaps there’s some way to use that toner for alternative or unintended purposes?

Like… silkscreening? Or something similar?

I remember being told a million years ago “when faced with spilled toner powder, don’t get it wet, and don’t get it hot” so I’m wondering if it could be used like paint/dye/ink for clothes as a silkscreen medium or something?

Laser printer toner is tiny plastic particles mixed with carbon black or other colour pigments.

The printed page goes through a high temperature fuser before the printer spits it out, and the plastic melting is what makes it stick to the page.

It will be EXTREMELY messy if you open a toner cartridge. And probably hazardous to inhale or generally be around at all.

plz no

It’s also super bad for your lungs and too fine to be adequately vacuumed up or easily cleaned

All good points. I’ll leave them sealed and perhaps contact HP for return labels (or drop them at a Staples for recycling). Thanks for your input, folks.
