I’m interested in trying some etching on 3D prints in PLA. I’ve seen examples around of this working pretty well:
Here is an MSDS for PLA
From the MSDS: “Hazardous decomposition products: Burning produces obnoxious and toxic fumes. Aldehydes.
Carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon dioxide (CO2).”
This is similar to the combustion hazards of plywood: “Thermal decomposition (i.e. smoldering,
burning) products include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, aliphatic aldehydes, resin acids,
terpenes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and aluminum oxides”
I am on the LCC, but I’ll recuse myself from discussing this request - I’m biased
Thanks!
