Laser Kerf Fit Guide

Hey all, I’m going to be doing a laser cut project that requires tightly fitting pieces on 1/8th" plywood or 3.15mm. I did some offset testing to find the best fit, and I thought I’d share if its of benefit to anyone.

This is to account for the laser kerf

0.4mm is the absolute tightest, but requires hammering it in which may damage the pieces, 0.3mm is tight enough that the piece holds in place.

I offset the pieces using stroke, then stroke to path, then union. The stroke to path function is buggy, or idk what I am doing wrong, but it seems you have to click it a few times to get it to actually do it.

P.S. I know there is an offset feature in LaserCAD but it crashes when I try on anything remotely complex (such as this deer)
