Our GreenQloud server is down. I’ve emailed their support address about it, but I’m not hopeful of a useful response. They gave me a ticket number and a link…
With help from GreenQloud support, home.vanhack.ca is back up again.
We need to migrate off this server, because as of Oct 1 GreenQloud is shutting down its cloud service.
Time to migrate to the TALK server (digital ocean) ?
We should probably have at least two servers out there, just so something is still working if one of them gets taken out by a full root filesystem or something. Not that we ever experience that, of course. (cough, cough)
Edit: Thanks to @TyIsI for identifying that particular problem. Not that it happened or anything.
Strategically, I’d suggest we run public facing/random stuff on the talk server and the central/“trusted” stuff on a separate server.
A consideration would be: do we want half the hackspace to have access to the server that hosts our membership database?
I would like to migrate api.vanhack.ca off of the home server.
