How to fix this drawer slide/free drawers!

Any idea how to get this drawer slide together?

Anyone interested in fixing these two Desky Ultra Slim Under Desk Drawers either for themselves or to pass along?

I bought one drawer but the right drawer slide arrived in pieces and rather than fix it the manufacturer sent me a replacement. When that arrived with the identical problem they sent a second replacement. So I now have two brand new drawers with one unassembled drawer slide each.

I haven’t tried separating the drawer slide from the outer shell of the drawer and haven’t figured out how to get the drawer slide together short of doing so … Any ideas?

I think they’re fastened by three pop rivets so possibly remove those rivets, assemble the drawer slide and then reattach it?

Is anyone interested in these two free drawers or undertaking fixing them?

Does the left drawer slide work? And is assembled? But did they send you the right-side slides disassembled?

These look like three-part slides, but you have four parts. The first part will be attached to the drawer, the second part bridges bars one and three, and part three is attached to the cabinet wall.

Usually, you pull the drawer out as far as possible, flip the lever, then pull it out again, which separates the first part from the second. The lever is usually attached to the front end of the middle portion of the slide. Either slide could be used as the left or right slide. You just rotate them a half turn along their long axis, so the “drawer part” of the slide faces the drawer.

Thanks Jason! Yes both left-side slides arrived assembled and working, both right-side slides arrived unassembled.

And yes they’re three-part slides. I removed the drawers from the cabinets using the levers and steps you describe — the first parts are riveted to the drawers and the third parts to the cabinets. The left-side second/middle ↔ third parts are assembled and working, the right-side second/middle parts are loose and I haven’t figured out how to put those together?

Yup the left- and right-side slides are identical, so if I/you can’t put the loose left-sides together then I could scavenge one right-side to make one complete drawer, but I/you’d still need to remove the right-side from one cabinet and reattach it to the other … Is anyone interested? Free drawers?

Hi Jack,

We might be able to use this for under the CNC bench at VHS. Are you able to drop this off at VHS or should I pick this up?

Oh great thanks Mark it’d be ideal if VHS can put these to good use! Are you offering to assemble/salvage the slides? because unfortunately I don’t have the tools at hand …

I’m happy to drop them off! but I’m out of town until at least August. Can I drop them off then and if so, where in the space can I drop them to get them to you? Thanks!

Thank you!

I will assemble/salvage the slides.

Let me know when you’re back and I’ll come down to meet you at the space, or you can label these with “majicj” plus the date and leave them in the metal cnc area by the machine shop.
