Hey 3D printing guys, (@ashley) James and I attempted to make a hobbed bolt for the Tantillus today I think it worked out and will work with the machine. He was able to install it and and should work once we get a arduino/ramps installed. We had a few attempts and spares are around too in the spare parts box.
See the pictures for the process incase you were wondering how.
We used the manual milling machine with the bolt sitting in bearings in the vice so we could control the depth of the cut and still get the bolt to turn. Was a lot simpler then I thought it was going to be, and can’t wait to get another printing in the space running soon!
Thanks, Luke
