Noticed that we’re being limited for message history on slack right now, and that we could get a free upgrade for up to 250 members (we’re at 208 right now)
Has anyone already looked into applying?
I’m assuming that we’re a registered non-profit?

Unfortunately, their help centre seems America-centric, and it isn’t accurate. We’re a registered non-profit, but what they actually demand is a registered charity. Several people have pursued this with no joy

Any thoughts on a self hosted open source alternative?
I know the current admins are probably over worked and under paid as it is.
I know a couple people at Slack. Is this really a big win for us to have? I can pick up a phone and take a swing if it makes a difference.

@chadleaman thanks that offer is much appreciated and you are a wizard! Since we are not a charity I’d rather we hold off on pursuing this. If it is something we really think we need down the road maybe VHS can think about paying for it.

Slack on the “pay to use plan” is around $8 per person per month

We could add it on to membership fees if we decide we really need the extended slack goodness. I’m not sure if we are there yet imo.
