Got that backwards - Mouser is $100 for free shipping, Digi-Key is still $200 (hopefully that’ll change soon to match Mouser!).

Hey all,
I’ve been sitting on this Peggy V2 for years now, and I’d like to get the
white 10 mm LEDs to build it. I know people have suggested Ebay to reduce
costs, but I don’t have the experience to ensure I won’t get scammed/buy
the wrong part.

Certainly your cheapest option would be Aliexpress. If you pick a vendor with a decent amount of sales and ratign then you should be good… The issue here is the cheap leds may have lousy QA so you may find they vary in brightness, etc. This may prove to be an issue when you have to solder 625 of them… You would be wise to test each one before soldering it.
If you order through Digikey you will pay lots more but will end up with a better quality led and can probably assume they will all be good…
Comes down to money vs time I suppose…
As for the part again it depends on size and color… Looks like any 5mm or 10 mm led would work…
