DIY Lithography Stepper & Access to 3D Printers

Hi everyone!

I am new to the space, and will be getting a tour and membership soon.

I am currently a second year computer engineering student and most of my experience is related to software, but have recently been working on different projects as well and have worked in machine shops before.

I am currently working on building a lithography stepper from scratch as a first step, and then will hopefully build other tools needed for micro fabrication. This is most likely going to be a club/design team at ubc and I put up a little website for it as well, which you can check out here (https://www.ubcfab.com/).

There’s small bottle neck for this project, which is 3D printing. I don’t have access to 3D printers and need some parts printed very soon so we can assemble the lithostepper and show it off beginning of September. Since the membership process and training can take a while, I was wondering if any members would be able to print them for me in the next few days or so? I would greatly appreciate it! There are 3 small parts that are supposed to hold up some of the parts related to the optics. I have also attached the files that need to be printed with PLA. I am also looking very forward to joining this community and getting to know everyone else and what projects they are working on!!

That’s Cool! I am working on a case for my iPad mini 6 that can have detachable controllers like the Nintendo switch

I’m still pretty new to this space, but I’m really enjoying it so far! I have a few 3D printers — including the Anycubic Kobra 2 Pro and a Bambu Lab A1.

Most of the time, I use Blender for modeling, but I also like switching to Tinkercad now and then because it’s simple and quick to use.

Oh, and I’m actually only in Grade 11 — just getting started and always learning!

@Billy_Tran Your project sounds pretty fun to build out and certainly VHS has plenty of skills to offer you. Its important to note however that our bylaws state that our members must be at least 19 years of age. Members however are allowed to bring in their kids to work on projects. That means if a parent or guardian signs up as a member you can come with them down to the space and make use of our 3d printers for your project. At least until you turn 19 and can join us as a full member then.

Minimum Age for Membership

2.9 Only individuals aged of 19 years or older may be admitted as members.
