Recently after a saw a post by @SteveRoy (Thanks by the way!), I decided to sign up on Coursera and take a class. I took Machine Learning, which is taught by Andrew Ng from Stanford, and it is really interesting. I had some problems with the math initially, but the person who was teaching it made it clear. I believe the math is Grade 12 Calculus, but I currently have Grade 10 level math so that should be sufficient. By the way, the Machine Learning course signup ends around August 2nd. Although I would recommond 2-4 days earlier because there is a bunch of other stuff you have to learn before the first assignment that is due on August 2nd. Do you guys have any suggestions for other courses on Coursera?
I took their cryptography course, by Dan boneh, which now might be offered
directly by Stanford. It was super fun, the math was simpler than the
machine learning course, but I learned a lot of Python doing the homeworks,
and I think some understanding of security on the Internet. I highly
recommend it.

I recently took Digital Signal Processing and Linear and Integer Programming.
Both were very useful, well instructed, and fun!
This makes for an interesting idea:
What if VHS hosted courses? This could have a few interesting points:
- We could offer training to our members ‘on demand’ - eg, you do the course, you have access to the tools with a quick competency check
- Possibly a revenue source
- Creates some awareness of VHS
