Interesting idea that might work for us. Cut outs in the foam on the wall for the tools. Makes it easy to find them and know where they go too

We already have the simplest of organizers: boxes with labels. eg “Phillips Screwdrivers” yet many of the tools never seem to be put away.
Now I know how my father felt after I’d been in his shop.

Reminds me of the metal shop in my high school (way back when). Outlines of the tools were on the peg boards lining the wall so they could come back more easily to their homes.
I like the use of the foam for more delicate measuring instruments such as micrometers for the lathe & mill users. The foam is overkill for more rugged tools such as hammers, C-clamps and such.
