Does anyone here know of a good independent car mechanic? Preferably one familiar with vehicles made in 2000 or later?
We have been going to Discount Auto at Clarke and 2nd for decades. They have always treated us honestly. The fellows name is Maz.

I used to go to Samson (Kingsway and 40ish), awesome people, always super fair, including telling me they couldn’t do something or sending me to a yonke mall searching for an old rusty gas tank. Can’t wait for my current car to be out of warranty to stop needing to go to the Toyota shop on Terminal, they totally suck

I swear by the folks at Fred’s Automotive at Fraser & 33rd. I would give them a call and make sure they work on your make & model (mine is a 2005 so I would be surprised if they didn’t.) They’re fair and transparent – always make sure you know the cost of each part of the work and can decide in advance what’s in your budget. The downside is they’re in high demand so I usually have to wait at least a month to get in. But I recommend checking them out.

Ooooh on that note – anyone for body work? I’ve had a huge dent in the back of my car for the last year that is covered by ICBC, but I need to find someone who can work within their budget.
I’ve had good experiences with False Creek Collision in Burnaby.
