Or anything else that would provide adequate sound insulation would do.
I’m building a box to help insulate sound from the extractor fan for the laser cutter and before I go buy something I thought I would ask if anyone has any extra material I could use to help with the insulation.
Last night I finally went to the shoebox for a couple of minutes and
noticed that we’re next door to Intuition. They make some sort of magic
foam that they use to make probably the world’s best liners for ski boots.
They’re really nice guys. Friends of mine have bought sheets of their foam
(about an inch thick) for pretty cheap, might be worth checking them out.
And we should definitely invite them to the SHHHHHHH
It sounds like you probably have this under control but I’m currently skeletonizing a few carseats for metal recycling and I’m saving some of the foam for puppet making. Neither side of it is coming away flat. For future reference there’s never going to be a shortage of car seats for scrapping so its quite abundant and excuse my digression but the seatbelt material is really incredible too, also in essentially bottomless supply.
I can bring you 10 feet of it to the SHHH. I got it for free so its free. Each spool is about 10’ so every car at the scrappers might have 20-70’ depending on model.
@garthomite - This is maybe no longer applicable, wish I read it earlier. There’s always a tonne of foam at the Pacific Mobile Depot drop spot which occurs once per months at Btittania Community Centre. If you still need some there will be one in March…but again, may be too late.
