Hi, guys.
I’m looking for a single packet of Sugru. Does anyone have any that they’d be willing to share/sell to me? I know RP Electronics carries an 8-pack, but I’d like to avoid buying that much if possible.
Thanks!

Does Sugru expire? If not, I’ve had some in my fridge for quite some time
unopened that I can part with
I have some, but not sure when I can make it to the space. I’ll send you a
pm.
It has a minimum 6-month shelf life. I’d love to give it a try if you can bring some by and leave it in the dropbox locker.
I have a wireless microphone pack EK 100 G3 - Sennheiser that has a busted antenna strain relief.
Thanks!
I bought a mixed sample pack from robat back in The Day ™ so it’s
ooollldd… yours if it is any good. I’ll drop it next time I am down that
way
Thanks. I’ve been offered some fresher stuff from 3bien, but I’d be curious to see if your stuff is still any good or if it is crispy old now.
I followed that Instructable to make my own sugru-y stuff. Just some silicon caulk and corn starch. It actually worked quite well. When I molded a fairly large handle for my cast iron frying pan though the mixture I made was too squishy so that it felt like the sugru hadn’t cured. It had cured but wasn’t very firm at all. Almost like it was full of jello. But I think you can play around with the recipe to a point to get the consistency you need.
If anyone is interested in an upper bound on the shelf life, I tried using a pack I got 3ish years ago and it had completely solidified.
@ashley Neat instructable…I wonder if there is a non-toxic alternative…what does nature do for such situations…hmmmm.
@JohnC where is RP electronics? I was curious to try some of this because it seemed pretty good for random fixes, but didn’t want to order it all the way from Europe.
I’ve got it a couple of times direct from Sugru and they’re usually quite
good with shipping. I was very excited by their magnets kit
https://sugru.com/buy/magnet-kit, but had iffy results with it on my
bike. I sugru’d one of the magnets to the handlebar and another one to a
bike computer, worked like a charm for a few weeks and then the sugru broke
off at the magnet. They were at least kind enough to refund me the $20 or
so from the magnet pack.

I’ve used Sugru a few times but definitely find the shelf life a problem. Mine died after a year (turned to dust) inside an unopened package. I really like the cured material though. Once made new laptop feet for it…worked perfectly.
Interesting. I’ve used stuff that’s been over a year old a couple of times. Do you keep it in the fridge?
I did. Maybe I had an old batch?
Thanks!! ![]()

Thanks! I think RP Electronics will be at VMFF, I should stop by the booth and see if they perchance have any on them! ![]()
