If you’re looking to step up your 3D printing skillz, come on down to VHS on the 29th from 5pm to 8pm - and bring your hyper-specific questions, or interesting prints you’ve been meaning to try.
Everything 3D printing related is fair game: different materials, slicer settings, difficult prints, printer maintenance, CAD stuff, etc.
The event is open to all skill levels: if you’ve just gotten trained on the VHS printers, or if you’re an experienced printer - stop by and learn something new, or share something you already know!
There won’t be formal printer training at this event but for any members looking for that please visit the 3D printing channel on slack and fill in the training request form in the bookmark links at the top of the channel.
I have a resin printing setup at home that’s been a massive pain; every job either falls into the drink (not enough bed adhesion) or needs to be Hulked off, nuking the build plate (too much bed adhesion)… This may not be the venue for it but I’d love some in-depth coaching to help me get to an island of stability!
I’d be working on fine tuning your first layer settings. Typically for resin prints your first layers will have a longer exposure time. Be systematic with the testing so start with the resin manufacturing setting and treat the exposure time as a variable as you dial it in. Standard test prints are a good way to do this.
I think these values too are pretty specific to the brand/type of resin you use. So the numbers may change when you change to a different resin as well.
