Tinkerine 3D Printer is back from the shop!

Hi all:

I’ve picked up the Tinkerine and it looks good. I’ve done a couple of small prints which look ok.

A couple of notes.

Please DO NOT OVERTORQUE the bed levelling screws. Light finger pressure to adjust these screws should be all that you ever need to apply. If screws are not turning then you have reached the travel limit so STOP twisting!

The travel bars need to be wiped off with paper towels everyone once in a while to prevent dust buildup.
This dust gets into the bearings and impedes the smooth travel for xy direction.

Happy 3D Printing.

There may be an issue with the Prusa i3… It stopped mid-print on me last Tuesday with a “can’t cold extrude” error and I didn’t have time to look at it as I was busy helping on another printer. I will look asap.

Hey guys, how user friendly is the other 3D printer? I had planned to use the Tinkering on Sunday but will have to make other plans.

Not much different from the Tinkerine. Uses a different slicer. Z height adjustment is simple and usually only needs checking and not adjusting. Prep of the printer is easier via the laptop and it prints from the attached SD card reader.

I’ll take a look tomorrow and make sure it’s working OK and leave a few notes on the laptop

Thanks Steve
