Hey all,
I have a very happy gardenia that was growing on my deck, and despite my attempts my beat it back over the summer, it ended up being too tall to fit anywhere near a window in my cave of an apartment. Rather than let the thing die over the winter, I wondered if it could reside at the Hack Space in one of the front rooms, presumably the kitchen, where there’s space. I will apply insecticidal soap before bringing it and wrap the pot in a fine mesh bag to prevent any creepy crawlies from invading the space. I will also be responsible for all care and feeding of it.
Pros: lovely gardenia plant brightening up in the space in the dreary winter months
Cons:takes up a few square feet of space in the kitchen.
- Yes: let the plant overwinter here
- No: keep that thing away from here
