Maybe we can slap a “danger high voltage” sticker on it or something. I could definitely see the solar charger being yoinked. How have other folks dealt with keeping it secure?
edit: I may be being overly cautious but stuff does get stolen a lot in east van.
I would be more than happy to do a workshop and a radio petting zoo. Would likely have to be early July, this week is pretty full and I’m out of the country next week. I’ll throw a lil poll on here to gauge interest for a session.
Yes I would be interested in a workshop on MeshCore
I was thinking for the workshop if i were to put together like a starter kit radio for like 50 bucks and then go over building and programming the radio would folks be interested in that? It would look kinda like this. Have a little battery and be fairly portable. It doesn’t take too long to build them maybe 30-45 mins.
I’m interested to learn more about this. I’ve been doing LoRaWAN stuff for the past couple years, and am running a production Chirpstack instance with about 200 nodes hitting it.
That sounds really rad! I’ll have to look into it. I’ll be putting together a workshop in July, will put a poll out soon to look at tentative dates. Appreciate all the interest
No worries on procuring your own hardware. I’ll be assembling a kit that will be made available for the workshop based on the Heltec V3, 1000maH battery and a 5dbi antenna in a compact casing. Targeting the build to be roughly 50 for all the parts, if i can make it less that would be rad. I’ve ordered 15 radios (being ambitious about workshop attendance haha) that should be arriving in the next couple weeks. So will be targeting this workshop for mid July. Will be putting a poll up on some potential dates to get a gauge of what works for most folks. Appreciate your interest in this
@MerlinDB Hope all is well? Are you still planning on doing an event? I am still eager to try this out! If not, anyone else in this thread want to get together and figure mesh-core out?
I am game to get rolling on this in the fall, things quiet down a lot for me early October. How about a little Lora meet Tuesday October 7th?
I have a few radios on hand that are running Radiohead for a track car data relay, happy to repurpose for some eval. If a few people show up with laptops we can select and order a set of the radios and plan a follow up workshop.
Hey all, people still game to meet up this coming Tuesday? I’ll bring what Ive got so far, would like to try flashing the sensor firmware and getting some air quality data live.
