Hello!
We’re looking for volunteers at our cyber security conference, B-Sides Vancouver 2015 this upcoming March 16 and 17, 2015 (Monday & Tuesday) to be held at the Imperial in Vancouver (319 Main Street). The conference runs between 08:30 AM and 05:00 PM on both days, but we’re looking for assistance at least an hour before, after, and all hours in-between—we are however very accommodating to when you can make yourselves available to us.
Some of the tasks we need help with include but may not be limited to:
- Handling of registration for attendees
- Helping setup chairs and tables where needed (very infrequent)
- Various tasks including assisting any speakers and vendors if necessary
- Setup and teardown before and after the conference on both days
If you’re interested in helping out, please let us know by using the form below:
Volunteering includes free attendance to the conference so let us know if you have any talks in particular that you’d like to see.
If there is interest from VHS doing other things for B-Sides, we are still sorting out some extra things as we speak. Let us know by e-mail crew@fourthplanet.ca.
B-Sides Vancouver is run by a non-profit society called the Mainland Advanced Research Society (MARS). We are a group dedicated to promoting security and privacy to Canadians and abroad. We also run a weekly event at the Railway Club each month on the second Thursday and if you’re interested in meeting up with people who are into computer security, we definitely welcome you regardless of what you do!
